Seriti is inviting applications for Degree or Diploma studies (NQF Level 7) within the following fields:
- Electrical Engineering
- Environmental Studies
- Geology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mine Surveying
- Mining Engineering
- Ventilation & Occupational Hygiene Engineering (VOHE)
Expenses Covered
The Seriti bursary provides comprehensive financial support, which includes:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Prescribed books allowance
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Monthly pocket money
- Once-off laptop allowance
Please note: The bursary does not cover failed modules from previous academic years or outstanding tuition fees.
Bursary recipients will participate in vacation work during their studies and will be required to fulfil a work-back obligation after graduation, subject to business needs.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric
- Must be studying full-time towards an approved qualification
- Must be entering 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study in 2026 (or Honours for Geology/Environmental students)
- First-year students are not eligible
- Must be registered at a recognised South African Higher Education Institution
- Minimum overall academic average of 60%
- Must not be receiving any other bursary or sponsorship
- Basic understanding of mining legislation, including the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Preference given to students from Seriti local communities
