The Public Investment Corporation SOC Limited (PIC) invites applications for its External Bursary Programme 2026. Open to financially needy South African citizens with strong academic performance and from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

About the Public Investment Corporation (PIC)
The Public Investment Corporation SOC Limited is a leading asset management firm wholly owned by the South African government, represented by the Minister of Finance. The PIC manages investments for public sector entities, including the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), and plays a vital role in driving South Africa’s economic growth through responsible investment and transformation initiatives.
Through its bursary programme, the PIC aims to empower bright young South Africans by providing access to tertiary education in fields that are essential to the financial and investment sectors.

The bursary is available for full-time undergraduate studies in the following fields:

- Cost and Management Accounting

- Information Management / Systems / Technology
- Internal Auditing
- Investment Management
- Human Resource Management
- Quantitative Finance
- Mathematical Statistics
- Research
- Risk Management
- Law (LLB)
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently unemployed
- Demonstrate financial need and academic excellence
- Be studying or intend to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the approved fields listed above
Required documents:
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Mid-year (2025) results or latest academic results
- Matric certificate (if completed)
- Proof of parents’ or guardians’ household income
