The SAMPRA Travel & Touring Fund 2026/2027 — The SAMPRA Development Fund invites SAMPRA members to apply for travel assistance funding for tours taking place from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. The funding is available to recording artists, bands and start-up record companies with potential to become global superstars who have been invited or booked to perform locally or internationally. The Fund will cover road travel, visa application fees, per diems, car hire, accommodation, and band fees.

About SAMPRA Development Fund

The SAMPRA Development Fund (“The Fund”) is the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) arm of SAMPRA. Its mandate is to contribute meaningfully to the development and sustainability of SAMPRA members. The Fund’s vision is to promote the value of South African recorded music with the aim of providing SAMPRA members with strategic opportunities to stimulate their growth, development, sustainability and social awareness.

The Fund’s intention is to do all the above while also contributing positively towards recording artists’ welfare and wellbeing.

Funding Period: 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027 • Target: Recording artists, bands, start-up record companies

Travel & Touring

We know you travel a whole lot for gigs. And sometimes you get a really cool gig but you can’t take it because you simply do not have the funds upfront to finance the trip.

What if we told you that the SAMPRA Development Fund can help carry some of the costs of your travel when you travel locally or internationally for gigs?

The funding will be available to recording artists, bands and start-up record companies with potential to become global superstars. Basically, someone like you.

This will also include SAMPRA members who have been invited to perform at international showcasing festivals, concerts, and conferences.

Expenses Covered by The SAMPRA Travel & Touring Fund 2026/2027

The following expenses will be considered by the Fund:

  • Visa application fees
  • Per diems
  • Car hire
  • Accommodation
  • Band fees

Eligibility Criteria for The SAMPRA Travel & Touring Fund 2026/2027

You must answer YES to all the following questions:

  • Are you a SAMPRA member?
  • Have you earned at least R3000 from SAMPRA?
  • Have you been invited or booked to perform locally or internationally?
  • Do you have the required travel documents for the trip?

Only tours taking place from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027 will be considered.
