
Established in 2016, the JDK Benefit Trust Bursary was created to promote public benefit initiatives that align with its donor’s mission of empowering Black communities across South Africa.
The Trust focuses on uplifting Black women and individuals with disabilities from historically marginalised backgrounds, supporting them through targeted education and empowerment programmes. By investing in education and skills development, JDK Benefit Trust aims to foster self-sufficiency and socio-economic progress among its beneficiaries.
About the JDK Benefit Trust Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
The JDK Benefit Trust invites students to apply for its 2026 bursary programme. Funding will be provided to Black students pursuing undergraduate qualifications in the following fields:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Health and Safety
- Human Resources
- Logistics
- Management Sciences
- Marketing
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted within 4 weeks of the closing date to confirm if they’ve passed the first stage of validation.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be Black
- Must be a Previously Disadvantaged Individual (PDI)
- Must be between 17 and 21 years old
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Must be studying or intending to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields
- Must be enrolled or intend to enrol at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
- Must be self-motivated and driven to succeed
